Path Connectedness and Invertible Matrices
نویسنده
چکیده
Though path-connectedness is a very geometric and visual property, math lets us formalize it and use it to gain geometric insight into spaces that we cannot visualize. In these notes, we will consider spaces of matrices, which (in general) we cannot draw as regions in R or R. To begin studying these spaces, we first explicitly define the concept of a path. Definition 1.1. A path in X is a continuous function φ : [0, 1]→ X.

متن کاملHYPERGROUPS AND GENERAL FUZZY AUTOMATA
In this paper, we first define the notion of a complete general fuzzyautomaton with threshold c and construct an $H_{nu}$- group, as well as commutativehypergroups, on the set of states of a complete general fuzzy automatonwith threshold c. We then define invertible general fuzzy automata, discussthe notions of “homogeneity, “separation, “thresholdness connected, “thresholdnessinner irreducible...
متن کاملGyrovector Spaces on the Open Convex Cone of Positive Definite Matrices
In this article we review an algebraic definition of the gyrogroup and a simplified version of the gyrovector space with two fundamental examples on the open ball of finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces, which are the Einstein and M"{o}bius gyrovector spaces. We introduce the structure of gyrovector space and the gyroline on the open convex cone of positive definite matrices and explore its...
متن کاملComputational results on invertible matrices with the maximum number of invertible 2×2 submatrices
A linear 2-All-or-Nothing Transform can be considered as an invertible matrix with all 2 × 2 submatrices invertible. It is known [P. D’Arco, N. Nasr Esfahani and D.R. Stinson, Electron. J. Combin. 23(4) (2016), #P4.10] that there is no binary s×s matrix that satisfies these conditions, for s > 2. In this paper, different computational methods for generating invertible binary matrices with close...
متن کاملInferring origin–destination trip matrices with a decoupled GLS path flow estimator
Recently, path flow estimators (PFE) have been used for the estimation of origin–destination (O–D) matrices. This paper develops a formulation that incorporates a decoupled path flow estimator in a generalized least squares (GLS) framework. The approach seeks to solve a GLS problem that minimizes the sum of errors in traffic counts and O–D matrices based on an equilibrium assignment mapping der...
